Brand New Books! - Latest Edition Always!
Each section of this great vitamin bible book contains an essential home reference and provides the facts about each vitamin or mineral, its benefits, natural sources, supplementation information, and toxicity. Proper nutrition is covered in detail, and there is a significant amount of advice about reducing cholesterol by using supplements. A useful chapter explains the nature of cravings--for example, for bananas, chocolate, eggs or even indigestibles like sand or dirt (pica)--and what they show about nutrients that might be lacking. Finally, there is an extensive chapter with sections on specific health issues and the supplements that may help each condition. Defying its small packaging, this well-rounded book is packed with an enormous amount of information.
Review: I bought this book last week and it's excellent value for money. It has all the information about vitamins and herbs; it gives recommendations as well as warnings; advice about specific ailments, and so much more. I was surprised at the depth of information given. For example, my doctor told me that the herb known as horsetail helped halt osteoporosis when taken along with calcium. He also recommended boron. Nowhere else have I found confirmation of that information but this book mentions both. Unfortunately, you will not find horsetail listed in the index. That is the only complaint I have about the book that, occasionally, just occasionally, something was not listed in the index that was referred to in the text. If you care about your health, I recommend it. It's a no-nonsense book.
